The event features live performances, music, and interactive dance classes that showcase the creativity, talent, and energy of Newark’s vibrant arts community.
Hosted by Maurice Chestnut, Dance Newark! brings residents and visitors together for an evening of movement, culture, and fun.
Summer Riverfront 6K Race
Purpose Runners 6K Run/Walk
As the second race of the Four Seasons Run Series, the Summer Riverfront 6K continues a purpose-driven journey that brings together movement, community, and impact through every season.
Organized by Purpose Runners Foundation in partnership with Insight Run Club, Newark City Parks Foundation, Newark Riverfront Park, and the Town of Harrison, this unique point-to-point race brings together runners, walkers, and the local community for an unforgettable summer experience.
The race begins next to the Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ and finishes at the beautiful Newark Riverfront Park, creating a scenic and energetic course along the waterfront.
Designed for runners of all levels, the Summer Riverfront 6K combines a high-energy atmosphere, community connection, and a meaningful mission making it much more than just another race.
Whether you’re chasing a PR, running your first race, or simply showing up for the experience.
Riverfront Boat Tours With Hackensack Riverkeeper

Join us for a scenic boat tour along the Newark Riverfront with Hackensack Riverkeeper, presented by Newark City Parks.
See Newark from the water.
Newark residents and visitors are invited to experience the city’s waterfront during a guided boat tour on the Passaic River.
Participants will board at Newark Riverfront Park and enjoy a guided trip highlighting the river, the surrounding landscape, local ecology, and Newark’s connection to its waterfront.
Space is limited. Advance registration is required, and every passenger must have a ticket for a specific departure time.
Riverfront House with DJ Omar Abdallah
Join us at Riverfront Park to soak in the summer vibes with DJ Omar Abdallah, who will be spinning soulful house music all evening. Come enjoy the breeze, the beats, and a laid-back atmosphere by the water.
Please note that this season Riverfront House has moved to a new location: the "Welcome Wall." It is just a little further down the road, offering the same great sound and vibe in a fresh setting.

Riverfront Hip Hop Day x Brick City Jam
The Brick City Jam is a Newark native artist run music and graffiti festival that celebrates all five elements of hip hop through live DJs, high energy performances, dance, fashion, and visual art.
This year's festival features headliner DoItAll and Friends, with Special Ed, plus performances by Rich Nyce, DJ Express, Rhino CMZ, and DJ Fade.
More than a music festival, Brick City Jam is a vibrant arts celebration showcasing live mural paintings, graffiti, sculptures, fashion, film, spoken word, and dance. Guests can also explore the Jersey Creators Market, enjoy delicious food trucks, and experience a day that highlights Newark's creativity, culture, and the enduring spirit of hip hop.

This special Walking Tour is POWERED BY NEWARK CITY PARKS FOUNDATION INC and covers one park per month!
Traverse Newark with experienced local guides to learn about Newark history, as well as the art, food, and architecture of today.
This Tour includes a behind the scenes look at one of the 4 parks managed by Newark City Parks Foundation Inc. The tour covers the park itself, the immediate surrounding neighborhood. Come hear about the history, architeture, culture and events that happen here.
Your $5 price will cover a $5 snack at a local food business.

14th Annual Newark River Day & Scavenger Hunt
The 14th Annual Newark River Day & Scavenger Hunt in Newark is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, celebrating the Passaic River waterfront. The event typically features community activities at Riverfront Park, often near the "Orange Sticks" on Raymond Blvd, fostering a connection to the city's river.
Location: Newark Riverfront Park (usually at the "Orange Sticks" near Raymond Blvd).
Activities: Past events have featured live music, dancing, fitness classes, boat tours, vendors, and local food.
This event is part of a larger, ongoing effort by the Newark Riverfront Revival to revitalize the area and provide public access to the waterfront for recreation.
