A poetic tale of travel and encounter that explores love, loneliness, friendship, and the meaning beneath appearances—reminding us that what is essential is invisible to the eye.

About the Series

Constellations are stories humans created to connect distant points of light. In that same spirit, The Constellation Bench imagines the city as a network of people, memories, languages, and journeys—linked across difference.

Nebulae are places where stars are born from dust and fragments. This gathering extends that idea into public space, envisioning it as a site where encounters, stories, and communities emerge from many small pieces coming together.

Cosmic Story Time is an intergenerational reading and gathering series centered around The Constellation Bench. Families, seniors, neighbors, and visitors are invited to bring books, stories, or poems they wish to share. A selection of books chosen by the artist, aligned with the sculpture’s themes, will also be available.

Each session will include short readings, open conversation, imaginative exchange, reflections on cities, ecology, and belonging, and quiet collective moments under the “constellation” of the sculpture. The project encourages community exchange, informal learning, and public space as a welcoming environment for all ages.

The 14th Annual River Day in Newark is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, celebrating the Passaic River waterfront. The event typically features community activities at Riverfront Park, often near the "Orange Sticks" on Raymond Blvd, fostering a connection to the city's river.

Location: Newark Riverfront Park (usually at the "Orange Sticks" near Raymond Blvd).

Activities: Past events have featured live music, dancing, fitness classes, boat tours, vendors, and local food.

This event is part of a larger, ongoing effort by the Newark Riverfront Revival to revitalize the area and provide public access to the waterfront for recreation.

Experience Newark’s historic waterfront on foot with a guided one-hour walk along the riverfront. Learn about the area’s landscape, history, and natural environment while enjoying fresh air and getting your steps in. This walk is open to everyone and welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels.

Please note that this season Riverfront House has moved to a new location: the "Welcome Wall." It is just a little further down the road, offering the same great sound and vibe in a fresh setting.
